Introducing Side Pots
We’re excited to introduce side pot distribution, a highly requested update that aligns with standard poker rules. Here’s a breakdown of how they function and appear during gameplay.
How Side Pots Work
A side pot is created when one or more players go all-in, but other players still have chips left and continue betting. Since the all-in player can’t win more than they put in, any extra chips go into a separate side pot that only the remaining players can win.
Example:
-
Player A goes all-in with $1,000.
-
Player B and Player C call the $1,000, then continue betting another $2,000.
-
The $3,000 ($1,000 from each player) goes into the main pot, which all three players can win.
-
The extra $4,000 ($2,000 from B and $2,000 from C) goes into a side pot, which only B and C can win.
How It Appears In-Game
-
A new “SP” box will show above the total pot anytime a side pot is in play. Hover over it to see a breakdown of pots and who’s eligible to win each one.
-
On the win screen, any side pot wins or ties will be marked with an SP badge. If there are multiple side pots, a number will appear to clarify which pot was won.
-
Main pot and side pot winnings are noted clearly in chat.
-
We only show SP badges when they matter—so if someone wins both the main and all side pots, we’ll keep things clean.
If you experience any bugs or miscalculations with side pots, please let us know!
